Putting the Patient at the Centre of Recovery

There is a welcome focus that has developed over the past several years to put the patient at the centre of the recovery process. Patient-centered or person-centred care  is defined by the Institute of Medicine as “Providing care that is respectful of and responsive to individual patient preferences, needs, and values, and ensuring that patient values guide all clinical decisions.”
