Stroke is the second leading cause of death worldwide. That’s the bad news. The good news is that there is a wealth of information on and offline to help you recognize risk factors leading to stroke, recognizing the symptoms of stroke and, of course, recovery from stroke (the purpose of this site). Here are a few online resources that will help you deal with the impact of stroke in your, a patient’s or a loved one’s experience with stroke. Stroke Association UKStroke Association, UK – provides excellent information on all aspect of strokes, their impact and recovery. Provides an extensive and free stroke resource library and maintains a stroke helpline.

Wikipedia Article on Stroke – Wikipedia is the world’s leading online encyclopaedia. It provides an excellent overview of stroke, the types, causes and devastating global impact.

World Stroke OrganizationWorld Stroke Organization – According to the WSO site, it is, “…the world’s leading organization in the fight against stroke. It was established in October 2006 through the merger of the International Stroke Society and the World Stroke Federation with the purpose of creating one world voice for stroke. Today, WSO has more than 1200 individual members and over 60 society members from 85 different countries.”
